Whistleblower

At GEDIA, our commitment to responsible, ethical and lawful behaviour is paramount, both in our own business and in our relationships with business partners and other stakeholders. A whistleblower system was introduced by GEDIA to give individuals, companies and other organisations such as non-governmental organisations the opportunity to draw attention to risks and violations. This includes risks and violations in the area of human rights and the environment in accordance with the requirements of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG). It also includes violations of applicable law in accordance with §2 of the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) as well as other violations of internal guidelines, business principles, the Declaration of Principles on Respect for Human Rights, the GEDIA Code of Conduct or concerns regarding possible or actual violations of these regulations. The whistleblower system ensures that all reports received are received by an externally appointed ombudsperson. All reports are treated in strict confidence, processed transparently and checked to determine whether a relevant violation in accordance with the provisions of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act or the Whistleblower Protection Act has occurred and appears plausible. The matter will then be clarified together with the human rights officers appointed by our company and you will receive feedback on how your report will be dealt with. Persons who, with good intentions, report an alleged offence that is not confirmed after close examination do not have to fear any negative consequences. However, it should be noted that deliberate or grossly negligent false reports can lead to consequences under criminal, civil and labour law.
